Oh boy… this is going to be a long post. It’s a post about a beautiful love story. Back in October I met the sweetest couple, Ashli and Matt. We hit it off right away and we both knew we were the right fit for one another. Later that month, we got together for their engagement session. I got to see first hand how fiercely they both love. I mean fierce with a burning passion. Matt’s son Cody came along for a few pictures as well. The three of them seem so happy and so right. Matt was all eyes for his future bride and Ashli just looked looked at him like he was the greatest thing since sliced bread.
This past Saturday, was the big day. They day when 2 became one. They pledged their love for each other at The Oaks at Salem outside under God’s great earth. They promised to cherish and keep one another in front of family. It was evident that they individually were taught to love so graciously and generously from each of their families. For them to find each other was perfection. This was a wedding full of smiles and tears, hugs and kisses.
As soon as the vows were exchanged, pictures were taken it was time to party. And everyone celebrated this wedding. I don’t think anyone was sitting in a chair once the dance floor opened! There was bumping and grinding going on left and right. Nobody wanted this day to end.
It was a wonderful day. I am so honored to be a part of this wedding. I won’t even call it a wedding. It was truly a joining of two souls. Souls created by God, made for each other.
There is nothing sweeter than a new baby. The softness of their skin. The delicate eyelashes and eyebrows. The paper thin finger nails. Walking into the home of a client with a newborn always brings back the memories and feelings that I had as a first time mom. I remember wanting to stare are my new miracle and never wanting to take my eyes off of her. She had stolen my heart with the first kicks that I felt inside my belly.
I know the parents of this sweet little girl felt the same way as I did. She was perfectly perfect in every way.
A couple of weeks ago, I held my bunny and chicks mini sessions at a local park in Raleigh. On the day of the sessions, the forecast looked good 75 and no rain, the chicks and bunnies were calm and my camera bag was packed and I was ready to go. The first of my littlest clients showed up at 8:30 and we were set to go for the next 4 hours. The only hitch was that the weather man lied. It was not sunny and warm like they promised. It was cool and damp. It sprinkled (or as I like to say, spitted) rain off and on all morning. It was never bad just more of an annoyance. Despite the weather issue, it was a great 4 hours. Lots of giggles and ooohs and ahhhs. There were a few tears but very few. I look forward to next year’s Bunny and Chick mini session.
