  • Welcome to my blogsite. I am so glad you came by for a visit. Grab a cup of something hot and steamy (I prefer coffee--aka liquid life) and take some time to meander through my postings. Some are about me, some are about my work, and some are about the little rug rats that I am lucky enough to call my children. Thanks for coming by...I hope we can chit chat soon!

I'm currently booking May, June and July. Please contact me as soon as possible to reserve a session date.

Please feel free to contact me about any child or family portrait session or a wedding questions you may have. I can be reached either at 919-228-9146 or 107,105,109,98,101,114,108,101,101,64,107,105,109,98,101,114,108,101,101,101,100,119,97,114,100,115,46,99,111,109moc.sdrawdeeelrebmik@eelrebmik. 52 Fridays {Out of Focus} | Cary NC Family Photographer

This week’s 52 Friday theme was out of focus.  Sounds easy, right.  Take a picture of out focus.  Now you know everyone takes images that are out of focus all the time and it happens to the best photographers.  Well this was really challenging for me.  Not that I’m all that and a bag of chips when it comes to photography but it was difficult to take a picture where everything was out of focus but it still had some aesthetic aspect to it.  I was trying to go for an impressionist feel to my image.  The impressionist movement was made up of painters like Monet, Renoir, Cezanne, Degas and Manet during the late 19th century.  I absolutely adore Monet’s water lily study and have since I first learned of him in my teen years.  I love that he spent so much of his life painting and studying the light on the water lilies.

OK so I’m really rambling right now.  So I took a picture of the park walkway through the development.  My kids were riding their bikes as I took it.  The weather here has been beautiful and this was a perfect opportunity.  This is my try at an impressionistic photograph.  What do you think?  Do I do the masters justice
